President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika has praised Malawi Netball Team (the Queens) for their outstanding performances at the just ended Glasgow Commonwealth Games.
Mutharika said this through a posted on his Facebook saying, the teams achievement has once again vindicated Malawi’s position as a netball powerhouse globally.
“My heart will not rest if I don’t take this opportunity to congratulate the Malawi Netball Team (the Queens) for their performance at the just ended Glasgow Commonwealth Games. I personally followed the team’s splendid performance in Glasgow.
“Their achievement has once again vindicated Malawi’s position as a netball powerhouse globally. To all our netball players, you have been very good ambassadors of Malawi. You have done us proud again and the country is happy to celebrate your victory”, reads the statement.
Mutharika further urged those people and Private sector who supported the team through different ways to continue.
The queens reclaimed position number one in Africa and 5 in the World.
