Airborne Rangers on Thursday thrashed the Peoples team Big Bullets through post-match penalties to reach quarter-finals of the 2014 Standard Bank Cup.

The game was played at Civo Stadium in Lilongwe.

Bullets started the game on a high note putting Airborne Rangers under panic and no wonder seven minutes in the first half Bullets scored a goal through Diverson Mlozi.

Bullets controlled the game throughout the first half but failed to score another goal.

In the Second half, the Salima based soldiers looked the changed side making Bullets fail to play the usual Football.

The effort and determination shown by Airborne yielded results at the 77th minute of the second half as they equalised through Sam Banda.

After 90 minutes it was 1-1.

The development forced the referee in charge of the game Mabvuto Msimuko to call for penalties.

Airborne Rangers scored all the 9 spot kicks while Bullets missed one.

Airborne Rangers will face Mafco in the quarter finals to be played on Sunday at Civo Stadium.
