Relatives of former Polytechnic student Robert Chasowa have expressed dissatisfaction on how the case involving their son is progressing.
Godfrey Botomani, Uncle to Chasowa said this on Saturday during the unveiling of the late Robert’s tombstone at HHI cemetery in Blantyre.
“It looked like the previous government wanted to find the truth of the matter and they stopped suddenly and there is no sign that the matter would be continued.
“As a family we don’t have powers to force the government to do something. We just see in the media that some civil society’s organizations are doing something for the truth to come out”, said Botomani.
Chasowa , a third year Civil Engineer student at Polytechnic was discovered dead at the Campus on the wee hours of September 24, 2011.
During that time Democratic Progress Party (DPP) was in power under the late Professor Bingu Wa Mutharika.
His death sparked anger from various stakeholders who were demanding Justice on the death.
No wonder when former President Dr. Joyce Banda took the rain of office after the death of President Bingu Wa Mutharika on April 6, 2012, launched an inquiry to carryout investigations on the matter.
Since then nothing has been done on the matter.
