Since President professor Arthur Peter Mutharika assumed the high office on May 20, hiring, firing and transferring of top government officials has been on the centre stage.
Latest victims are Chief Executive Officers for all three major cities.
Information sourced by FaceofMalawi indicate that Ministry of Local Government has moved three (CEOs)to district Councils.
All the affected CEOs confirmed of the development in an interview with the local daily paper in the country [Nation Newspaper] and all welcomed the move.
CEO for Lilongwe City Council (LCC), Richard Hara has been transferred to Blantyre District council, CEO for Zomba, Ali Phiri has been transferred to Chiradzulu while CEO for Mzuzu Thomas Chirwa, his destination is yet to be confirmed.
Ministry of Local Government Principal Secretary Kester Kaphaizi said the transfers are normal.
Meanwhile Blantyre City Council (BCC) Chief Executive Officer Ted Nandola has been spared as he is on contract.
