Malawi Congress Party (MCP) has called upon leaders of various political parties in the country to forget their political differences and focus on how they can move the country forward.
MCP spokesperson on finance in Parliament Joseph Njobvuyalema made the call during the first ever rally of the party since the country hosted the first ever tripartite election on May 20.
The rally was held in Kasungu over the Weekend.
“There are different systems how one gets into government and after this one was sworn in, our leadership thought it wise that we move on peacefully.
This time we want to help to build Malawi, we want to help build the economy that’s why we are no longer interested in pursuing anything to do with the elections”, he said.
MCP came second in the May 20 tripartite election and the party vehemently protested the outcome of the election.
The election which saw President Professor Peter Mutharika of Democratic Progressive Party imaging as a winner was marred by several irregularities.
