It never rain but pours for former ruling People’s Party (PP) Deputy Campaign director Ken Zikhale Ng’oma who dumped the party and re-joined the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP).

Barely hours after PP Secretary General Paul Maulidi described Zikhale defection as a sign frustration and a political prostitute who always seek for opportunity in the Party in power, DPP also has rejected him from joining the party.

Speaking to the press, DPP Information Minister Kondwani Nankhumwa vehemently blasted Zikhale decision to join the party, saying ‘come rain come sunshine the party will not allow him in the party’.

“He has not joined DPP and we will not accept him. This is the position of the party and government. We recognize his wishes, but he can still work with us while still in opposition,” said Nankhumwa.

Nankhumwa said Ng’oma who has become a ‘political nomad’ by jumping from party to another, doesn’t need to dump the opposition side, arguing “Everyone has obligation to work with government of the day.”

In Malawi’s political history it has been the train that once there is a change of government leaders of various parties in opposition dump their parties for the Party in power.
