Ghana national football team captain Asamoah Gyan is expected to watch Standard Bank Knockout final between Silver Strikers and Azam Tigers this Saturday at Civo Stadium in Lilongwe.

The ALAin striker will arrive in the country on Thursday and will be accompanied by his manager Samuel Addo and renowned Ghanaian jazz saxophonist Steve Bedi who is also the Protect the Goal, Goodwill Ambassador for Ghana.

According to a statement from United Nations Malawi office, during his three day visit to Malawi, Gyan will attend signing ceremony of Global Ball, where President Peter Mutharika will sign the ball, reaffirming his commitment to HIV prevention.

Fifteen other African Heads of State have so far signed the ‘Global Ball’ which has now arrived in Malawi.

Gyan will also hold an interactive Protect the Goal information session with young people, media interviews and radio talk shows.

He will also interact with potential sponsors of Protect the Goal at a gala dinner.

The campaign seeks to contribute towards attainment of zero infections, zero discrimination and zero Aids related deaths.
