Two People are in police custody in Kasungu for allegedly stealing 15 goats.
Kasungu Police spokesperson Edwin Kaunda confirmed of the arrest and identified the suspect as Ganizan Nkhoma, 30 and Kesiteni Belubelu 28.
According to the police, the two suspects during the night of 25th and 26th August went to the house of Evason Banda who is Group Village Headman Yamwala and stole all his 15 goats which were in the kraal.
“The GVH discovered that his goats had been stolen at around 3am. He reported the matter to the police who after conducting investigations arrested the two at Maplot Location where they butchered the goats for sale,” said Kaunda.
The two will appear in court soon to answer the charge of theft of goats.
Nkhoma comes from Chiloweni village Traditional Authority (T/A) Mnyanja in Kasungu while his accomplice Belubelu hails from Salamba village, T/A Mabuka in Mulanje.
