Police in Malawi’s central district of Dedza have arrested a 24 year-old man for allegedly cutting off the ears of his wife following a family squabble.
The man, identified as Gama Bano from Bunya village in Traditional Authority Kamenyagwaza in the district has been remanded to Dedza prison.
While the victim is admitted to Dedza district hospital where she is receiving medical treatment.
Bano will face unlawful wounding and assault occasioning bodily harm charges, according to Dedza Police spokesperson Edward Kabango.
