President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika has hired the services of former Malawi Post Master General Charles Nsaliwa as new Director General for Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA).
Nsaliwa replaces Andrew Kumbatira.
Although reason as to why Kumbatira has been fired are not given, inside sources have linked his dismissal to the purchase of his official car, Toyota Prado worth K10 million at a heavily discounted price of K 1 million and also giving of a contract to his daughter and close friend without following proper procedures.
Since President Mutharika ascended to the high office firing and hiring of government top officials has been on the centre stage.
