A 42-year-old man from Dowa was on Sunday found dead and dumped near Area 36 market in Lilongwe.

Lilongwe Police Public Relations Officer sub inspector Kingsley Dandaula confirmed of the death and identified the deceased as Buyani Mafosha.

According to Dandaula, the body of the deceased was discovered along the earth roads that lead to the market.

“The police leant about the death following a tip from some people who had seen the man lying in a pool of blood. Our officers from area 36 police station collected the body and referred it to Kamuzu Central Hospital for postmortem”, he said.

Dandaula alleged that unknown criminals killed the man on his way back home from work.

Postmortem results conducted at Kamuzu central hospital showed that the man died due to severe loss of blood as he sustained dip cuts on his head and neck.

Mafosha hails from Mdayenda Village, Traditional Authority Chakhadza in Dowa.
