President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika will Saturday evening grace the launch of the Beautify Malawi (BEAM) Trust at Kamuzu Palace’s Grand Marquee in Lilongwe.

This has been disclosed in a statement from State House announced made available to the Press.

Mutharika’s attendance of the launch is to emphasize the importance of togetherness in making Malawi cleaner and healthier, according to the statement.

First Lady, Gertrude Mutharika is the patron of the Trust which is aimed at rallying Malawians and all well-meaning persons towards working together for a cleaner and healthier Malawi.

“Funds raised during the dinner will kick-start several projects in sanitation, waste management and waste recycling in the country,” reads the statement, adding that all guests are expected to be seated by 6 O’clock pm.

The First Lady disclosed her idea of establishing BEAM Trust early August when she had audience with Malawian women living in the US on the sidelines of the US-Africa Heads of State Summit which was held in Washington DC.
