Twenty-two year old Joyce Mpandeni is the winner of the five million kwacha top prize in the just ended Ufulu @ 50 promotion by mobile service provider TNM.

Mpandeni, a small-scale business woman who sells fritters (mandasi) at Makhanga trading centre, emerged the cash prize winner during the final draw on August 28, 2014.

Joyce received her prize money at her home in Msuza village in the area of traditional authority Mloro in lower-shire district of Nsanje district on Wednesday.

Speaking during prize presentation ceremony, Joyce disclosed that she was very happy to be the lucky winner thanking God for fortunes.

“It’s a dream come true. When I was contacted by TNM about the prize, I thought it was just a dream, but now that they have confirmed I’m the winner. I’m overwhelmed with excitement” she said.

Mpandeni thanked TNM for bringing the Ufulu@50 Promotion, saying it offered ordinary Malawians an opportunity to celebrate the country’s 50th Independence Anniversary in style.

TNM’s head of Innovation Frank Magombo, described the promotion as a life changer for TNM scribers saying every TNM scriber who recharged during the month long promotion was a winner.
