One of the well-known businessman, Oswald Lutepo, the prime suspect in the plundering of public funds at Capitol Hill dubbed Cashgate has been added as one of the accused in the murder attempt of former budget director Paul Mphwiyo.
The newly appointed Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) Mary Kachale who has joined the state prosecuting team told the Court today that the state has new evidence that shows that Lutepo was part of the conspiracy to murder of Mphwiyo.
The defence team did not object to the application.
This means that Lutepo now joins former justice Minister Ralph Kasambara and four others in answering murder charges of Mphwiyo.
Meanwhile Justice Michael Mtambo who is presiding over the case has adjourned the case to November 12 to 14, 2014.
