Ethiopian Airlines has won the Passenger Choice Award for “Best Airline in Africa” for the second time at the Airline Passenger Experience (APEX) EXPO, which was held from September 15-18, 2014, in California.

The Passenger Choice Award was created by the US-based Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX) to give a voice to airline passengers. It encompasses a survey of passengers in 13 languages, and it is the customers themselves who rate airlines based on their overall experience.

The Addis Abeba Bole International Airport is the major hub for Ethiopian, and is one of the largest airports in Africa. The ultra modern airport terminal was constructed in 2003.

Bole International Airport is the busiest airport in East Africa, with a capacity to provide a world class passenger and cargo service to more than 6.5 million international and domestic passengers each year.

Ethiopian won the SKYTRAX award based on the largest airport customer survey, and the Passenger Choice Award, for the first time, in 2013. The company has registered an average growth of 25pc a year over the past seven years.
