As debates on the proposal by former ruling People’s Party (PP) provincial chair for the Northern Region Christopher Mzomera Ngwira for the formation of Federal system of government continues , two more Members of Parliament have added their voices on the matter.
The two are Independent Member of Parliament Karonga Central Frank Mwenefumbo and Members of Parliament for Rumphi East Kamlepo Kalua.
In his contribution on the matter at Parliament on Monday, Mwefumbo said Federal system of government will bring an end to tribalism and equal distribution of national resources.
He indicated that if given opportunity to run a region all governors will be responsible to uplift the standards of their areas.
Concurring with Mwenefumbo’s remarks Kalua said there is need for government to call for government to have a referendum on the issue citing people should say the side through vote.
President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika when he visited the Northern Region a Month ago called upon people and religious leaders to remain united and he asked for dialogue if there is any issue affecting them.
Meanwhile it is yet to be seen how far the issue will go.
