As the country’s major referral hospitals continue to experience short supply of blood, one of the local media house in the country Capital FM in collaboration with Malawi Blood Transfusion Service (MBTS) is scheduled to hold a ‘blood donations drive’ on Saturday October 4, 2014.
The blood donation drive will be held at Chichiri Shopping Centre car park under the theme ‘ Finding the Hero in You’. The invent which will start from 8 in the morning to 12 has been organized in partnership with Chichiri Shopping Centre, Bakemans, SunPride and Hallmark Creations.
The initiative which targets people from the age of 16 and above, aims at collecting blood to assist those people who are in need.
“Our aim for this blood donation drive is to collect blood to help those in need.
“As we know, many people in our community will need blood at some point in their life. They may have a serious injury or life –threatening illness, which would require a blood transfusion”, said Keshia-Zara Osman, Programs Director.
Osman has further urged all members of the general public to support them as they are carrying out the initiative.
