As Malawians still continues to live in perpetual fear due security lapse, Vice President Saulosi Chilima has said government will do whatever it can to make sure that peace and security is restored in the country.
His remarks comes barely weeks after robbers invaded Mudi House, his official residence.
Chilima said this during a whistle-stop tour he conducted in Thyolo East and Blantyre North constituencies on Saturday.
“Do not distrust efforts government is putting in place to deal with insecurity and make this country a crime-free nation.
“Everything is under control and this government will not just let criminals go scot-free,” said Chilima.
Since President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika ascended to the high office, the country has experienced an increase in crime, making Malawians live in fear of their lives.
Some of the notable incidences is the invasion of Mudi House, official residence of the Vice President by armed robbers, invasion of Mzuzu Standard Bank, where armed robbers went away with money amounting to MK0.5 billion and hijacking of High court Judge.
