President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika is on Friday , October 10 expected to be the Guest of Honour at a fundraising dinner dance for Mulhakho wa Alhomwe at College of Medicine Sports Complex in Blantyre.
The dinner dance has been orgarnised to raise funds for this year’s Mulhakho wa Alhomwe celebrations scheduled for October 26 in Mulanje where the grouping will be celebrating seven years of existence.
According to information sourced from the Office of the President and Cabinet, Mutharika will arrive at Sports Complex at 6pm.
Speaking in an interview Vice chairperson of catering committee, Pilirani Vokhiwa disclosed that budget for this year’s celebration has been pegged at K60 million from last year’s K45 million.
Mulhakho wa Alhomwe is a cultural grouping for lhomwes in the country and is celebrated every year at Chonde in Mulanje.
The grouping was formed by the late President Professor Bingu Wa Mutharika to provide exposure and preserve the Lhomwe cultural customs.
