President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika is on Wednesday October 15, 2014 scheduled to preside over activities to mark the National Police Day at Police Headquarters in Area 30, Lilongwe.

This has been confirmed through a statement from the Office of the President and Cabinet (OPC) signed by Presidential Press Secretary Frederick Ndala.

According to the statement, Mutharika will arrive at the venue at 9:00 am.

Among the activities to commemorate the day will be a joint parade from all police divisions, performances and mounting of pavilions displaying various police activities in the country.

The National Police Day was started in 1922 by the Nyasaland Police and it was last celebrated by the Malawi Police Service in1994
