Toyota Malawi has welcomed the company’s new managing director Arvinder Reel.

Reel will replace former Managing Director Rosemary Mkandawire who will now assume a new role of non-Executive chairperson.

Reel has been in charge of Toyota Malawi for over a month now.

Though there were rumours that there was bound to be a change at the top at the Kamuzu Stadium just months after Toyota Malawi went into a business partnership with CFAO.

CFAO was created in 1887 with the established of “Compagnie Francaise de l’Afrique Occidentale” and started general trade operations in 1888 in various West African countries.

Reel has worked with the Toyota group for over 17 years, having had spells with Toyota Kenya, Toyota Zambia as well as Toyota Tsusha Africa in South Africa.

Toyota is the world’s first automobile manufacturer to produce more than 10 million vehicles per year.

Mkandawire is credited for having made the grade of the few women Chief Executive Officers Malawi has produced.
