Former President of Malawi Joyce Banda is said to have removed an injunction whereby she was refusing key suspect in Cashgate scandal Oswald Lutepo, from acquiring her call logs.
Banda had recently got a stay order barring the court to access her call logs by obtaining an injunction citing that they were interfering with her rights to privacy.
However FaceofMalawi gather resources from Banda’s lawyer, Redson Kapindu, who revealed that the application for a stay away order was withdrawn and now the call logs relevant to the case can be accessed.
Now that the stay order has been removed, Airtel Malawi is expected to produce the call logs within 10 days.
“Airtel Malawi must produce the call logs not later than Monday 27 October 2014. The call logs should also be issued in the presence of all three parties (Banda, Lutepo, and the Director of Public Prosecution)”, said Kapindu.
Lutepo also asked the court to access the call logs Banda had with Ex-IG of Police Nelson Bophani and former Constitutional Affairs Minister Fahad Assani.
Meanwhile, the case was adjourned to 17 November.
