Some subscribers of Telekom Networks Malawi (TNM) on Thursday had a rude awakening as they had airtime wiped from their mobile phones without use.

The development sparked debate among subscribers who took the issue to Facebook expressing their grievances.

Prisca Nyirenda, one of the victim wrote on her timeline: “Tnm i nid my k 840 Now…….mukakanika, ndubwera kuofc kwanuko komko”.

Commenting on the issue Misheck Matoga said “They wipe Mk170 the customer service line was not going trough but because I wanted to make very important call I toped my acc with another MK100 of which they wiped Mk66. This is very disappointing”.

Another victim only identified as Mayamiko also wrote: “I also lost credit worth K2,000 in 2 minutes. My friend lost K2,000 the same way. And when we called TNM Call Centre they only advised us to contact the nearest TNM shop.I think TNM owes us(subscribers) an explanation as to what went wrong?”.

FaceofMalawi’s effort to talk to one of the officials from TNM proved futile.

Meanwhile information sourced from some of the subscribers indicate that TNM has promised to refund all the victims.
