Malawi National Examination Board (MANEB) in collaboration with the Ministry of Education Science and Technology has released the much awaited Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) examination results with 54.8 percent pass rate.
This has been disclosed in a Press Statement issued on Monday afternoon to the Press.
According to the statement from MANEB out of 130, 293 candidates who wrote the examination, 71,486 have qualified for the award of MSCE certificate, representing 54.8 percent pass rate.
Only 26 candidates were disqualified for the award of the MSCE certificate for failing to adhere to examination regulations.
The statement further states that female candidates got 46.94 percent pass rate as 27,306 out of 58,170 candidates passed the examination.
“Out of 72,123 male candidates who sat for the examination in at least six subjects including English, 44,180 have qualified for the award of MSCE, representing 61.26 percent,” reads in part the statement.
It said 45,325 internal candidates have passed out of 77,621 who sat for the examination, representing 58.39 percent pass rate while out of 25,467 external candidates 12,538 passed, representing 49.23 percent.
Meanwhile MANEB has urged all students who are not satisfied with the results to write to the board before November 13th, 2014.
