President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika is today scheduled to host journalists at Sanjika Palace in the commercial capital Blantyre.

The meeting which failed to take place last week Friday, will attract journalist from all media houses in the country.

Secretary for Information and Tourism Chimwemwe Banda confirmed of the meeting in an interview with the media, saying meeting will provide an opportunity for the media to interact with the President on various issues effecting the nation.

It is believed that that the media will use the gathering to push for the president’s signature on the Table Mountain Declaration which is currently gathering dust.

In its May 20 Elections manifesto, The Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) promised to table and pass the Access to Information Bill.

Speaking during previous seating of Parliament, Minister of Information, Tourism and Culture Kondwani Nankhumwa said the bill was not ready for deliberations.

Table Mountain Declaration bill once approved will assist journalist in the country to execute their duties without fear.
