A Malawi Defense Force (MDF) Soldier named as Laison Manda has committed suicide while on peace keeping mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
According to MDF spokesperson, Paul Chiphwanya Manda shot himself but said the Malawi Army is still working to establish the circumstance of the suicide. The incident happened Friday.
Manda has left a suicide note with an instruction that it be read on his funeral.
