One of the suspects in the Petroda Filling Station robbery which happened last month has died while receiving treatment at Kamuzu Central Hospital (KCH) in the capital Lilongwe, hours before he was shot by the Police.

The armed robber is believed to be one of the suspected armed thugs who shot dead a Police officer and injuring another officer in the process. The armed thugs went away with money amounting to MK46.4 million.

The suspect was shot by the Police on Monday night this week in Dwangwa Township.

Central Region Police Spokesperson Ramsy Mshani confirmed of the development in an interview with the press, saying the suspect was shot as he was trying to escape arrest.

Mshani has identified the suspect as Kingsley Manyenje who hails from Mlaji Village in the area of Traditional Authority Mwadzama in Nkhotakota.

Meanwhile Police are still searching for the remaining suspects.
