The Catholic Commission for Justice and Peace (CCJP) has expressed shock over the death of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Director of Corporate Services Issa Njauju.

Njauju was found dead on Saturday in the capital Lilongwe after missing for two days and his body indicated some gunshots.

Njauju’s vehicle D4D was found burnt to ashes at Kauma in Lilongwe.

Speaking in an interview, CCJP National Secretary Chris Chisoni said Njauju’s death is regrettable to the nation as it comes at a time the country is eagerly waiting for the truth on the plunder of money amounting to MK92 billion which happened during the first reign of Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) under late President Professor Bingu wa Mutharika.

Chisoni urged the government to ensure that their tight security of ACB officials and let them execute their duties without any interference.

Information speculating on the social media indicates that Njauju was holding important information regarding to the MK92 billion plunder of public funds.

Meanwhile Police have launched a manhunt for suspected criminals who are still at large.
