A-43-year old man is in Police custody in Nkhata-Bay for allegedly stabbing a pastor to death on allegation that he was having an affair with his wife.
Nkhata-Bay Police spokesperson Ignatius Esau confirmed of the development in an interview with the Press and identified the suspect as William Banda and the deceased as Dymon Kamanga of Baptist Church
Esau said the incident happened on Sunday, few hours before the service.
When pressed to explain as to why the suspected stabbed the pastor to death, Esau said Police are investigating the matter and will soon issue a report on the death.
“Currently as Police we are not sure of what prompted the suspect to stab the pastor to death but rumours say the Pastor was in an affair with the wife of the suspect,” he said.
Kamanga died on the way to Nkhatabay District Hospital.
Both the deceased and the suspect hail from Zamulomo village, Traditional Authority Timbili in the district.
