A Chiredzi man played games on a household in Tshovani in Chiredzi in the wee hours of Monday morning when he unlawful gained entry into the house and sneaked into the ceiling.
When residents heard sounds that they did not understand they searched for long and failed to establish what it was. They then went outside to investigate but as they did so Itai Chikafu came down from the roof, removed his clothes, locked the residents outside the house and went back into the roof.
Chafuka appeared before Chiredzi Magistrate Geraldine Mutsoto on Tuesday facing a charge of unlawful entry. Circumstances are that he gained entry into the house owned by Tatenda Mugabe by removing an iron sheet from the roof. Police was called in leading to Chafuka’s arrest.
Chafuka claimed in court that he was authorised by Mugabe to enter the house. Magistrate Mutsoto postponed the matter to April 7, after ordering the State to have Chafuka examined by medical doctors to ascertain his mental status.
Gladmore Gwara prosecuted
