Muslim Association of Malawi (MAM) in conjunction with the Ministry of Local Government have announced that the public holiday to mark the end of fasting in the Muslim holy month of Ramadan will be observed on Monday, July 20.

Ministry of Local Government Spokesperson Muhlabase Mughogho confirmed of the development in a statement made available to FaceofMalawi.

According to the statement, the decision has been arrived at in consultation with the Muslim mother body in the country.

Mughogho has also trashed a statement circulating on the social media that President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika has declared Friday and Monday as Public Holidays.
