The High Court in Blantyre has revoked bail and ordered the re-arrest of the Ali Kaka Chinemba, a well-known businessman.
Chinemba who is answering murder charges following an allegation that he shot dead 20-year-old Dave Kadzuwa on August 4 2014 was expected to appear at High Court on Wednesday for a full commencement of his trial which he did not honour.
The development forced the presiding judge in the case Dorothy Nyakaunda-Kamanga to order for his re-arrest as his lawyer failed to provide relevant information of his whereabouts.
Confirming the development Judiciary spokesperson Mlenga Mvula said the case will continue while Chinemba is in Police custody.
During the previous court sitting, Ali kaka, a 2014 losing contestant in Blantyre City South Constituency denied the murder charges leveled against him.
Ali Kaka once faced the arm of law in February 2012 when he was arrested together with lawyer Ralph Kasambara and three others for detaining and assaulting three people who reportedly attempted to assassinate Kasambara and petrol-bomb his offices and residence in Blantyre.
