Dabula who played the role of Gadafi has left the soapie to pursue other interests.
Dabula joins Denise Zimba and Asanda Foji who were axed last month. While Generations has stated Dabula left on his own accord, their publicity manager, Gaaratwe Mokheti alluded to several actors’ contracts not getting renewed in an exclusive with Times LIVErecently.
“We are in contract negotiations. At this time of year contracts are reviewed and depending on the story certain actors stay and others go.”
Mokheti added the drama was focused on keeping viewers gripped by changing its storyline.
“Our biggest loyalty is in advancing the story and keeping our viewers entertained and that’s the reason we keep introducing new and fresh stories,” she said.
Dabula got his first major role as Gadafi. He has had cameo appearances in Yizo Yizo and Isidingo.
Generations seems to be undergoing a cast revamp with the exit of the three stars. The soapie is still South Africa’s most watched with about 6 million viewers and is rivaled by SABC 1’s Uzalo.
