The Ntchisi Magistrate Court has sentenced a commercial sex worker to seven-month imprisonment with hard labour for allegedly stealing money from her client.

The court held that the victim, Chiyembekezo Jackson on August 9, 2015 hired the services of Patricia Fatchi at MK500 and it is said that the client is reported to have fallen asleep before having sex with the woman and this gave the convict the opportunity to steal from him money amounting to MK40,000.

Upon rising from his deep sleep, Jackson could not believe his eyes when he realized that the money has been stolen from by the sex worker.

During the court hearing, Fatchi pleaded guilty to the charge of theft, and second grade magistrate Young Ng’oma ordered her to return the money in exchange for a suspended sentence but she failed.

Ng’oma has since sentenced Fatchi to seven-month imprisonment with hard labour.

Fatchi hails from Makawa village, Traditional Authority Mponda in Mangochi
