A teenage boy is in Police custody in Balaka district for allegedly sleeping with his biological mother.
Balaka Police Spokesperson Joseph Sauka has confirmed of the development in an interview with one of the privately owned online publication [Zodiak] and identified the suspect as McDonald Kusala.
According to Sauka, the suspect slept with his mother who was drunk on Friday.
“McDonald’s younger brother caught them in the act and called his father and other relatives who beat him up before bringing him (MacDonald) to police on Friday evening,” he said.
The suspect told the Police that he found his mother lying on a mat half-naked, and he took advantage of the presence of nobody’s in the house to have sex with her.
Kusala will appear in Court soon to answer charges of incest.
The suspect hails from Khoswe village, Traditional Authority Nsamala in the district.
