Opposition Malawi Congress Party (MCP) President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera has made some changes in the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) which has seen Felix Jumbe being demoted from Campaign Director to Strategic Planning Deputy Director.

The reshuffle in MCP comes barely two weeks after President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika reshuffled his cabinet which saw two Ministers being dropped.

The reshuffle in MCP has seen former National Assembly speaker Louis Chimango being hired as as legal advisor of the party taking over from parliamentarian Lewis Chakhwantha.

Chakwera has roped in two new faces in the NEC executive which are Dr Cornelius Mwalwanda and Eunice Makangala.

Mwalwanda has been appointed Second Deputy Director of Economic Planning and Makangala is Second Deputy of Political affairs.

Chakwera has promoted Dedza East parliamentarian Juliana Lunguzi from mare NEC member to Director of Recruitment Deputised by Fred Mkalangiza and Aggrey Chiumia.

Other appointments are as follows: Director of Public Relations. Alekeni Odala Menyani MP who will be deputised by Mrs Maureen Bondo and Billie Kanjira Banda MP .

Chakwera’s political strategist Linston Belekanyama is now director of Social, deputised by Dorothy Chirambo and Goodwin Mvula.

Strategic Planning Director: is Dr. Moses Khombe and deputised by Elia Kamphinda Banda and Felix Jumbe.

NEC Members and Advisory to the President include veteran politicians Mai Dinala, Foloma Mwale of Mchinji, Chisenga of Kasungu, Mai Nyachunda of Mzimba.
