A 26-year old man Sylvester Mzumara has been arrested in connection to the murder of Malawi Defence Soldier Lance Corpol Chipiliro Chiwere from Kamuzu Barracks.
Chiwere was stabbed to death with a screwdriver at the chest Friday by unknown people in Area 44 in the capital Lilongwe.
National Police Publicist Rhoda Manjolo confirmed of the development in an interview one of the online publications in the country, saying the suspects is an employee of Crossroads Hotel in Lilongwe.
She said the suspect will appear in Court soon.
Mzumara hails from Mtawali Village in the area of Traditional Authority Wasambo in Karonga District.
Meanwhile Police investigations on the matter continues.
