Police are yet to arrest Ali Kaka Chinemba, a businessperson person and a 2014 losing candidate for Blantyre City Constituent charged for murdering a 20 year old lorry driver.

In July, the High Court in Blantyre revoked his bail application for his absence in court at the full commencement of his trial with no reasons and ordered for his immediate arrest.

Since then, Chinemba has not been seen anywhere in the country prompting speculations that he has escaped out of the country.

Meanwhile Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) has obtained summons to have each of the two sureties for forfeit their K250 000 cash bail bond.

Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs spokesperson Apoche Itimu confirmed of the development in an interview with one of the local daily papers in the country, saying the same summons has also been filed with the court.

The 35-year-old Chinemba is answering murder charges following an allegation that he shot to death 20-year-old Dave Kadzuwa of Chamtulo Village Traditional Authority Namkumba in Mangochi on August 4 2014.
