A woman who hails from Luwinga Township in Mzuzu City killed her own baby by dumping it into a toilet close to her office.

According to reports reaching FaceofMalawi indicates that people passing by heard the baby crying in the toilet. Efforts to rescue the baby proved futile as the baby died soon after being taken out of the toilet.

The woman, whom some people said is a commercial sex worker, is reported admitted at Mzuzu Central Hospital following injuries she sustained after being beaten by an angry mob over her inhumane deed.

Meanwhile Police in Mzuzu have confirmed the development, and have so far assured people that investigations are underway.

The development comes barely two weeks after another woman in the same city killed her newly born baby.
