Livingstonia CCAP Synod in the Northern part of Malawi has finally fired Reverend Chimwemwe Mhango who was suspended for what the synod called rebellious acts in April this year.

This has been confirmed in a statement made available to the Press and FaceofMalawi have in possession.

In the statement, the Synod says Mhango is no longer a recognized Reverend in the Livingstonia Synod and anywhere else.

Confirming the development in an interview with FOM’s reporter, Mhango said that he is not bitter with the move taken by the Synod and he will continue ministering at Kanengo congregation.

In April, the Synod suspended Mhango for protesting a transfer from Kanengo to Euthini in Mzimba.

The development forced congregants to write the Synod to reverse the decision or else the Church will quit from being under the Livistonia Synod but the Synod remained unmoved.

Mhango was ordained on April 24, 1994 and has served as a minister for various congregations up to date. He is also a renowned gospel musician and Musicians Union of Malawi (MUM) president.
