A 32 year old man has been arrested for allegedly killing by cutting off the head of his 28 year old brother before removing his private parts with intentions of selling them.

The suspect is identified as Francis Kamoto while the deceased brother is Enock Waheya.

Phalombe Police Station Public Relations Officer, Sub-Inspector Augustus Nkhwazi state that the suspect and deceased who are brothers left Malawi in 2008 and were staying with their elder brother at Nambwala village T/A Mpindura in Khoromana district in Mozambique.

On 21st August this year, the two left home to drink beer in a nearby village but the other never returned home.

The missing man’s wife became suspicious by the conduct of the suspect who asked her about the deceased cloths and this prompted a man-hunt for the deceased to be launched.

A dead body was then found in a decomposed state in a nearby bush.

“People were shocked to find the body that had its head cut off, eyes removed, the stomach opened, intestines removed and private parts cut off.

Burial was conducted right at the scene of the incident. People started searching for the suspect who by then was at large and believed to be hiding in Malawi”, explained Nkhwazi.

Nkhwazi added that suspect was found offering male sexual organs which had been roasted on fire allegedly to prevent it from decomposing to a local business person by the name of Daniel Mugonja of Katemera village within Nkhulambe area.

The suspect left the organs at the businessman’s house and fled.

He was then arrested by members of community policing when he was attempting to drown himself in the river to escape the arrest.

The suspect is expected to be handed to Mozambican Police for Murder where the incident took place.

The suspect, Francis Kamoto hails from Katemera village T/A Nkhulambe while the deceased, Enock Waheya hailed from Mchenga village T/A Nkhulambe both in Phalombe.
