A 27 year old man has died by hanging himself in his house after suspecting that his wife was going out with other men.
Police in Zomba have confirmed the sudden death of Macnight Chiwere of Silira Village in the area of Traditional Authority Malemia in the district.
According to Deputy Public Relations Officer for Zomba Police Station, Constable Davie Sulumba, the deceased married Ellen Juma of Chitenje village and had two children.
During their stay as a family, the husband was suspecting his wife of being unfaithful and decided to divorce but later they re-united.
Although they were staying together, the man was not happy because rumours were still circulating that his wife was going out with other men.
However, on September 8, 2015, the deceased decided to to take his life by hanging himself in his house with a rope made from Linya and fishing net threads and died of suffocation according to a medical report.
Meanwhile, Police would like to advise the general public that if they have misunderstandings they should report to Victim Support Unit (VSU) offices which deal with family issues rather than killing themselves.
