Information reaching FaceofMalawi indicates that Inkosi Ya Makosi Gomani V has been fired from his position as Paramount Chief for Maseko Ngoni for despising other royal members.
The decision to fire the youthful Goman V, 20-year-old Mswati Willard Kanjedza Gomani was arrived at during a meeting held on Saturday by some 24 Gomani royal family members in Ntcheu.
According a story published by one of the local daily papers in the country [Daily Times], the decision was made after observing that Mswati and the then regent, Rosemary Malinki, are despising other royal family members, including Titus Phillip Gomani.
At that meeting, Titus Phillip Gomani, who is the Senior Prince, declared Dingiswayo Samson Gomani as the caretaker Inkosi Ya Makosi until further notice.
“Senior Prince Titus Gomani closed the meeting by declaring that he was the one who approved Mswati Willard Gomani to be heir to the throne and a successor of his father, with the same powers and authority, he declared that Mswati and Malinki are no longer Paramount Chief and regent, respectively, and that from now onwards, Dingiswayo Samson Gomani will take over as the caretaker Paramount Chief until further notice,” the copy of the minutes reads in part.
The meeting is also said to have empowered, Titus Gomani, to take a leading role and have a say in activities to do with the paramount chieftaincy.
The family members said they have tried to bring sanity into the royal family since the death of Inkosi Ya Makosi Gomani IV to no avail.
Mswati was declared Crown Prince in 2009 at the age of 13 after the death of his father Kanjedza Gomani, was crowned in 2012.
