Fierce fire on Thursday night gutted down area 18 market in the capital Lilongwe leaving vendors plying their trade in the market hopeless.
The development comes barely a week after fire also consumed part of the hostels accommodating Catholic Sisters and Daughters of Wisdom at Mlambe Mission in the Township of Lunzu in Blantyre.
According to an eyewitness who rushed to the scene, said the fire started at around 8 pm and goods worth millions of kwacha have been destroyed.
He said the fire is suspected to have been caused by an electrical fault.
Meanwhile Police are yet to establish the cause of the fire.
