Information reaching FaceofMalawi indicates that Mtakataka Community Day Secondary School in the Central district of Dedza has been indefinitely closed following the disagreement that erupted between the Head teacher and the students.

According to information at hand, the students are demanding for the immediate transfer of the Head teacher, accusing him of facilitating the transfer of four teachers from the school.

On Monday this week, the students staged a protest and in the process detained the Head teacher in his own house, leading to temporary suspension of classes.

Officials from the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology visited the school to resolve the disagreement between the Headtechaer and the students but the effort proved futile.

Confirming the development, Central West Education Division Manager Joseph Nkhata described the behavior of the students as barbaric and uncalled for.

Meanwhile it is not known as to when the school will be reopened.
