One of the accused in the shooting case of former Budget Director Paul Mphwiyo which led to the massive revelations of the plunder of public funds at Capitol Hill, Ralph Kasambara has been admitted at Seventh Day Adventist Hospital in the commercial capital Blantyre.

Kasambara was rearrested on Wednesday after the Lilongwe High Court Judge Michael Mtambo revoked his bail, accusing him playing delaying tactics in the conspiracy case he is answering.

He tried to bloke the bail revocation by applying for a stay of the judge’s ruling until Friday to allow him deal with some private issues but this proved futile.

He was put behind bars at Maula Prison and transferred on Thursday to Zomba Maximum Prison.

While there, it is reported that Kasambara developed a “serious cardiac condition forcing prison officials to refer him to Mwaiwathu Private Hospital where he was later referred to Blantyre Adventist Hospital.

Meanwhile reports indicate that Kasambara is in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
