Dreams of Malawians seeing the award-winning Jamaican dancehall artist Busy Signal performing at this year’s Sunbird Sand Music Festival scheduled to take place at Sunbird Livingstonia Beach in Salima from October 30 to November 1 is slowly turning to a nightmare following revelations that the artist is not aware of the event.

Last week, chairperson of Sand Music Festival Lucius Banda told the press in Blantyre that Busy Signal will be the headline performer at the festival.

But in what can be regarded as a twist of event, Busy Signal’s brother and manager Gayle Gordon has dismissed the reports in an interview with iriefm.net, saying the dancehall deejay is not billed for an event in Malawi.

According to the publication, Busy Signal is slated to perform on October 24 in Zimbabwe and not in Malawi.

Gordon told Music News that there is no contractual agreement for a performance in Malawi later this month.

Busy Signal is best known for the number one hits Dreams of Brighter Days, Come Over, The Gambler and Reggae Music Again.
