The Malawi National Examination Board (MANEB) in conjunction with the Ministry Of Education, Science and Technology on Tuesday released the much awaited 2015 Malawi School Certificate Education (MSCE) results.

According to MANEB Public Relations Officer Simeon Magaga, Out of 136,296 candidates who sat the exam in at least six subjects including English, 75,296 candidates have passed, representing a 55.2% pass rate compared to last year 54%.

In an interview with a local media , Ministry Of Education, Science and Technology Spokesperson Manfred Ndovies said that there is a lot of work to do on the ground despite the change in pass rate.

“ It is good news because we have moved, but it is not that satisfactory. We still have a lot of homework to do to achieve desired results. That includes having more qualified teachers and ensuring that we have adequate learning materials so that students do not scramble for books.” said Manfred Ndovie.
