A day cannot pass without recording any fire incident in the country, piling more pressure on those people who want to venture into business as they are not assured of safety of their businesses.

Latest information indicates that fire has razed down Nkanda Post Office in Mchinji destroying property worth millions.

Police in Mchinji have confirmed of the development in an interview with the press, saying investigations are underway to establish the cause of the fire.

According to the Police, the fire started at around 9pm on Tuesday destroying everything in the post office.

Fire incidences are so rampant in the country. On Monday night fire consumed People’s Metro in the Township of Chilomoni in Blantyre and police are yet to establish the cause.

Earlier this year, President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika formed an inquiry to look into the cause of many fire incidences in the country but little seems to be done on the ground.
