Former Minister in the reign of United Democratic Front (UDF) Dr. George Nga Ntafu will be laid to rest on Friday at Ntonda, Khumbo Farm, in Blantyre along Chikwawa Road on Friday.

Nga Ntafu, one of renowned politicians and neurosurgeon, died on Tuesday at Mwaiwathu Private Hospital where he was rushed after being involved in car accident along the Chileka road.

In a statement released on Wednesday, UDF Spokesperson Ken Ndanga said before the burial there will be a church service at Sunnyside Adventist Church.

“The body will be collected from College of Medicine on Thursday at 3pm to Khumbo Farm.Vigil is taking place at his house in Chileka,” wrote Ndanga wrote on his official facebook page.

Ntafu made headlines in 2007 in Parliament when he called Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) MPs ‘Agalu’[Dogs].

He was booted out of Parliament in 2009.

Born on Likoma Island, Ntafu was trained as a neurosurgeon in Germany and returned home in the 1980s and was based at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital in Blantyre.

Meanwhile former President Dr. Bakili Muluzi, Dr. Joyce Banda and President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika have expressed shock over the death of Ntafu.
